Wichita, Kansas

It took us 4 hours to change a toilet seat cover!  Yuck!  After that we decided to go to Exploration Place in Wichita.  It was a pretty fun museum although we have been to so many museums we have become museum snobs.  We all really enjoyed the thinking puzzles they had throughout the museum.  While at the museum it started to rain so hard.  We were in a room surrounded by glass that was on the edge of the Arkansas River.  I honestly thought I was Noah's wife and the building was going to float away.  I absolutely love watching the the rain and lightning and hearing the thunder.  Peyton said "We don't get lightning like this in California."  Thee we don't get in California phrases has become his new saying.  After the museum closed all the boys played mini golf on the museum owned mini golf course.  Good thing we carry our own golf clubs in the RV.  I stayed in the RV and made a steak dinner
(editorial comment by Dave... Cindi is an awesome cook!  She has been making us all great meals).  After dinner we took a walk across a really cool walking bridge that had a very nice, 2006 completed, area saluting all of the Plains Indian tribes of Mid America.  Then we started our drive to Topeka, Kansas.  The highlight of the day was watching some spectacular lightning as we drove.  We also got to watch a firework show as we drove towards a small Kansas town along the way.  Right as we passed by, at the perfect time, they lit up the sky with their gra
nd finale.

THANK goodness for this blog site. WE MISS ALL OF YOU SPECIAL KIDS.
Sorry we have not commented recently but we have been in Laughlin, celebrating our 40th anniversary. We brought our computer but could not use it at the Harrah's Hotel.
Thank you so much for the wonderful dinner, you and Teri set up at The Steak House at the Tropicana. What a feast. I was able to order shrimp cocktail, dad ordered lobster bisk. Then they made our salad at our table and we could have any choices of ingredients we wanted put on it. My whole plate was filled with artichokes. Then my all time favorite meal, Rack of Lamb, and dad's, steak. What a enjoyable evening. Thank you both so much. Oh forget to mention our wine and Margaretta's.
We had a ball in Laughlin. Gambled,( lost with enjoyment) jet skied on the lake, relaxed by the river, and lets not forget pigged out, over and over again.
You're all having a great time and we love, love, love, hearing about it. So glad you had the chance to visit with Betsy, Jim, and their family, and also Dave's
friends. What a blessing. God is so good.
Missouri, (Branson) is one of our favorite places, and WE DO LOVE, COUNTRY MUSIC (remember Country Roads Denver) So glad you all could enjoy Silver Dollar City, and Missouri's beauty for a few days. Well I best go, just got home from a fireworks display, and got lots to do, but give all a kiss for me. Love ya Mom S.

You guys are seeing so much and the kids are getting to do so many different things - so much more than you'd probably get to do in boring ol Granite Bay! It just all looks like fun. I like looking at the pictures. Happy 4th

Hi everyone and Happy 4th of July Independence Day!! I am guessing that you are in Topeka Kansas on your way to Madison WI. Hope you get to see a firework display tonight. We are having a quiet holiday just Dad and I and Evan is mowing the lawns. Jana and family are headed to the lake for a picnic supper with Jeff and Sarah Davis and Duke and Hunter. They are back up here for one month before they leave for a two year teaching assignment in Cambodia. They are amazing! The big party is tomorrow with all the extended family coming over for swimming and BBQ. Haven't seen all the cousins for a very long time. You will be missed!!!
If you are heading back Chicago way and want another contact, Eric and Jenn Keller have recently moved to another Presbyterian Church outside of Chicago. I have the address in the church computer if you want it. And Dad's cousin and family live in the Hampton Iowa area. Well, we leave for San Francisco on Tuesday night, then have a flight to London on Wednesday, then on to Amsterdam on Sunday. We will email you from the ship after the 16th.
Love, Mom & Dad H
