Six Flags St Louis

Today we went to Six Flags St Louis.  It was raining so we pretty much had Six Flags to ourselves.  We also spent a few wet hours at Hurricane Harbor.  I guess if your playing in the water it doesn't matter if it's raining.  Since we have a season pass, hanging at a amusement park is a pretty cheap way to spend a day.  We ate lunch and dinner in the RV so we actually didn't spend a penny today.  We are now heading toward  Little Rock, AR.

Could you imagine wearing that outfit in the rain!
The alien looks as if he is giving Peyton the evil eye

These People where stuck up there in the rain for over an hour.

When mom and I were in St Louis on our motor home trip and went to the Arch, it also was after one of the worst flooding Missouri had been through in years. There were only a few bridges that you could use to cross the Missouri, or the Mississippi rivers. Most of the campgrounds we stayed in along those rivers had the bottom half’s of them flooded. It’s very interesting to see picnic benches and electric hook up pools, peeking out of the river where trailers and motor homes once were parked. The last time I was in St Louis and at the Arch was with my father and brother for a Schlotzhauer family reunion, that was held in Pilot Grove Missouri .We had to park about a half mile away because they had the whole arch area bordered with concrete for car bomb protection after 9/11. We were going to put Dad in that little car elevator and go to the lookout on top, but he wanted nothing to do with it (lots of scratch marks on the wall), so Dan and I went while Dad enjoyed walking through the museum with both feet on the ground. We also spent a lot of time looking in cemeteries and driving to old homesteads for a bit of nostalgia. Most of our relatives were and are still located in Missouri. I also wish we had visited some of those awesome museums you have been sharing with us, but Six Flags in the rain!!!! I think I’ll pass on that one. Try and take some time while in Little Rock to go to the hot pools, I’m sure you will enjoy the relaxation. Also the Clinton presidential library is now open in Little Rock, so let us know all about it. Arkansas is a very beautiful state and I think you will enjoy it. Mom and I will be away from the computer for close to a week, at Lake Pleasant. We will have to keep in touch by phone. Give the boys our love and have them look at their e-mail
